Our  History

I am Lynn Palmer of Dealergoodies, Auto Dealer Supplies.  We have 4 stores at 4 different Auto Auctions:  Harrisburg Auto Auction, Manheim Auto Auction, Mason Dixon Auto Auction, and Keystone Auto Auction. In addition to this comprehensive web site, Dealergoodies.com, we have seven people (totaling over 110 years of auto experience combined) serving over 3,000 customers, from new and used auto dealers to reconditioning body shops.  We have been serving the auto industry for over 16 years, with over 40 different manufacturers and suppliers of products.

A bit about me and where I came from:
I have loved cars since I was in 7th grade (Corvettes, Camaros, Mustangs, etc.)  After graduating from Chaffey College with a 2 year associate degree in auto technology, I went into the used car business in 1977.  In the 1980's, with the Gas Shortage and the Three Mile Island incidents, business fell soft and ground to a halt in my area. I went up the spout, but just short of bankruptcy.  After that setback, I thought it would be nice to redirect my talents to offer the products I had used in the car business.  So that is where the idea came from to begin a new way of supporting and being involved with the industry I so love.

In 1986, I started with a 1978 Ford E-150 short van.  I sold radios, trim rings and hubcaps, working out of my mom's garage.  In 1989 I bought Ernie Spoonhouse's Auto Auction store  (4 auction locations) and the business grew.  I bought a bigger truck and a house.  And I stored my products in my house.  In 1995, my sister, Vic, started helping out at the Harrisburg Auto Auction store front (she now helps at Manheim store/warehouse and Harrisburg  Auto Auction Store, and does deliveries as well).  The following year, I bought the Manheim store.  That year, my mom started helping out at Hatfield Auto Auction (she now helps at Hatfield Auto Auction, warehouse, distributing inventory).  My mother worked with cars when she helped her father at a Kaiser Frazier Dealership1945-1950.  In 1998, Ike joined our team.  He was the head foreman for a large construction firm.  He does deliveries and helps out at Manheim, and manages construction at our stores.  My wife, Debbie, manages the Manheim Store -- she keeps all the I's dotted and the T's crossed and more importantly, keeps me in order.  Debbie brings with her over 22 years of experience in the auto business (Ford, NAPA, Big A's).

Then in early 2000, Jay Hickman (also an acting automotive dealer) of eznetsites.com started building our web site  We launched the web site in July 2000 and have been updating it and adding new products ever since.  Steve Zigler also joined us at the Manheim store, doing just about everything.  My niece and nephew also help during the summer.  Oct. 2002 Bob Swigert came on board, his knowledge & experience is a real asset for our dealers and we hope they use it. The last three years Bob managed a garage, was an active wholesaler buying and selling units and operated a detail shop. He operated his own business for 8 years prior to that, detailing and mechanics garage. Prior to that experience he operated a construction supply business for 12 years, managing up to 30 employees.Jacob helps at the Manheim store, pricing and cleaning.  Sarah helps at the Harrisburg Auto Auction, doing sales, cleaning, working in the warehouse and at the Manheim store.

In closing, I wish to offer a word of thanks to all of our customers that have had a part in our continuing success. A word of thanks to the continued efforts of our dedicated employees and family. A gleaming smile to all of you that found us here on the net.  Safe motoring and call us anytime you need us for anything.

Yours Truly, Lynn Palmer and the gang
