BEFORE YOU START
How to Release Pressure
- ALWAYS DEPRESSURIZE
SPRAYER BEFORE REMOVING ANY PARTS. The pressure may be let
out of the sprayer one of the two following ways:
- Turn sprayer
upside down. Point nozzle down and away from you.
- Tip the
sprayer upside down and depress the trigger until no
pressure is left. If some liquid is left in the sprayer
when you attempt this procedure make sure you aim the
nozzle at a place were a little bit of liquid can be
expelled.
- Place top of
sprayer away from you. Slowly turn pump handle to the left
(counterclockwise) to release pump.
How to Fill
- Release pressure
as described previously
- Remove pump
from tank by turning counterclockwise and pulling out of
tank.
- Prepare spray
solution according to manufacturer's mixing instruction.
Make sure the liquid you are putting into the sprayer is
CLEAN and FREE OF FOREIGN PARTICLES. Do not fill tank over
3/4 full.
- Close tank by
replacing pump, turning only enough to seat.
How to Pressurize
- Lift pump handle
all the way up and push it all the way down. Repeat until
you have desired pressure in tank. Test pressure by spraying
some liquid (squeeze control valve handle). A higher pressure
makes a finer spray. It also makes a coarse spray go a greater
distance.
- As pressure
drops during use, add pressure as necessary.
- Shake tank occasionally
to keep sediment-bearing liquids well mixed.
- The Swabby99
Pro Tire Applicator sprayer is now ready to use.
CAUTION: Never
point the nozzle sprayer toward yourself or another person.
Always point the nozzle of the sprayer away from yourself and
toward your intended target before depressing the trigger.
How to Service Tank and Pump Assembly
If sprayer fails to pressurize:
- Always be sure
there is no pressure in sprayer before servicing.
- Remove pump
from tank. Inspect cylinder gasket part #151-069 . If soiled,
clean cylinder all surfaces of gasket and remove from tank.
If worn, replace with part from Maintenance Kit part #250.
- Remove plunger
from pump cylinder by unthreading pump cap. Pull plunger
out of cylinder and inspect plunger cup part # 154-058.
If damaged or worn, replace with part from kit. Apply petroleum
jelly to plunger cup to reassemble.
- Remove check
valve from bottom of pump cylinder and clean seating surface.
Inspect check valve part # 151-406. If worn, replace with
part from kit.
- Reassemble sprayer.
If tank fails to retain pressure, proceed to the next section
and check for leaks.
If sprayer leaks:
- Check cylinder
gasket: Release pressure and remove pump. Clean gasket and
surfaces where it seals. If gasket shows signs of wear,
replace with part from kit.
- Examine pump
cylinder check valve: Release pressure and remove pump.
Pull out check valve at bottom of pump cylinder and clean
seating surface. If valve shows signs of wear, replace with
part from kit.
- Examine hose
connection to tank: be sure cap nut is secure.
